HERA Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 16, 2026
HERA ("HERA," "we," "us," or "our") operates the HERA mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Services") — a women's strength training, fitness, and education platform that helps you follow workout programs, log training, track progress metrics, and access educational content. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you download, access, or use the HERA app or otherwise communicate with us.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and understand the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described here.
Personal Information We Collect or Process
When we use the term "personal information," we mean information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to you. It does not include data that is anonymized or de-identified so it cannot reasonably be linked to you.
Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect or process the following categories of personal information:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Account information | Your name, email address, date of birth, and account password. |
| Health and fitness information | Body metrics you choose to enter (such as bodyweight and measurements), training goals, workout logs, and your activity and progress within the app. |
| Subscription and transaction information | Your subscription status, plan, and purchase history. Payments are processed by Google Play Billing & Apple Store Billing — we do not collect or store your credit card, debit card, or full payment card details. |
| Communications with us | Information you include when you contact us, for example through a customer support inquiry. |
| Device and technical information | Device type and model, operating system and app version, language settings, unique device or installation identifiers, IP address, and similar diagnostic data. |
| Usage information | Information about how you interact with the Services, such as features you use, screens you view, and session activity. |
| Crash and diagnostic data | Technical logs and crash reports that help us identify and fix problems. |
| Push notification tokens | A device token used to deliver push notifications, if you enable them. |
We may also draw inferences from the information above to personalize and improve your experience (for example, recommending programs based on your logged activity).
We do not currently collect reproductive health, menstrual cycle, or fertility data. If we introduce features that collect this information in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and our Google Play Data Safety disclosures before doing so.
How We Collect Personal Information
We collect personal information from the following sources:
- Directly from you — when you create an account, set up your profile, enter metrics, log workouts, manage your subscription, or contact us.
- Automatically through the Services — from your device and through software development kits (SDKs) and similar technologies when you use the app, including analytics and diagnostic tools.
- From our service providers — such as Google (for app distribution, payments, analytics, and notifications) and our email provider, when they collect or process information on our behalf.
How We Use Your Personal Information
Depending on how you use the Services, we may use personal information to:
- Provide and operate the Services — create and manage your account, deliver workout programs and educational content, save your metrics and workout logs, personalize recommendations, and remember your preferences.
- Process subscriptions — confirm your subscription status and manage access to paid features. Payments themselves are processed by Google Play Billing.
- Communicate with you — respond to support requests, send service-related messages about your account or subscription, and (with your consent where required) send marketing and promotional emails. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any such email.
- Send push notifications — such as reminders and updates, if you have enabled them. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.
- Improve the Services — analyze usage trends, diagnose crashes, and test and develop new features.
- Security and fraud prevention — authenticate your account, detect and prevent fraudulent, unsafe, or unauthorized activity, and protect the Services and our users.
- Comply with legal obligations — meet applicable legal requirements and respond to valid legal process.
How We Disclose Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not display third-party advertising in the app or share your information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We may disclose your personal information to the following categories of third parties for the purposes described in this policy:
- Google — for app distribution and subscription processing (Google Play and Google Play Billing), analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase), crash reporting, and push notification delivery (Firebase Cloud Messaging). See the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase privacy information.
- Our email provider (Mailchimp) — to send account and marketing communications. See the Intuit/Mailchimp Privacy Statement.
- Other service providers — such as cloud hosting and IT providers that support the operation of the Services, acting on our behalf and under appropriate confidentiality obligations.
- For legal and safety reasons — to comply with applicable law or valid legal process, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of HERA, our users, or others.
- In connection with a business transaction — such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Third-Party Services
The Services rely on third-party tools that may collect or process information about your use of the app, including device and usage data. These currently include Google Play and Google Play Billing, Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase crash reporting, Firebase Cloud Messaging, and Mailchimp. These providers process information in accordance with their own privacy policies, linked in the section above.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services. We may retain certain information after you delete your account where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, or enforce our terms. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information. However, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your account credentials confidential and do not share your password with others.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information. These rights are not absolute and may be subject to exceptions under applicable law.
- Access / Know — request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Delete — request that we delete personal information we hold about you (see "Account and Data Deletion" below).
- Correct — request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
- Portability — request a copy of certain personal information.
- Opt out of marketing — unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any such email, and disable push notifications in your device settings.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in the "Contact" section. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Account and Data Deletion
You can delete your HERA account and associated personal information at any time:
- In the app: Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account and follow the prompts.
- Without the app: Email us at hello@herafit.com with the subject line "Delete My Account," and we will process your request.
When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information, except where we are required or permitted to retain it (for example, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or prevent fraud). We will let you know if any information must be retained and why.
Children's Privacy
The Services are intended for a general adult audience and are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below, and we will delete it. As of the effective date of this Privacy Policy, we do not knowingly "sell" or "share" the personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.
International Users
We may transfer, store, and process your personal information in countries other than the one in which you live, including the United States. Where required, we rely on recognized transfer mechanisms (such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your information when it is transferred internationally.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we do, we will post the revised policy here, update the "Last updated" date, and provide additional notice as required by applicable law.
